| Log in as a user and click on the Alice link. |

| This window will appear and this is the main search window of ALICE called the inquiry. |

| Type the search into the search area such as gold |

| Click on the binocular icon and the search item will appear in a number of titles.You can choose a keyword to condense your search or titles and website etc.If you choose to select the keyword the search becomes specific and it will detail authors, the names of books, tapes, videos and call numbers. |

| Make your choice then press the blue arrow. |

| A more detailed screen will now direct and link you to the web or to a book of choice or you can click the house icon to return home. |
WHAT DO ALICE ICONs DO? The Launch Web Browser button tells Softlink Alice to launch your web browser program. this button to return to the previous screen. Click this button to return to the Quick Search - Category window
Click to go back The Book Wizard button allows the Book Wizard module to be opened from inquiry.
After the search is completed, the Search Result window will be displayed.
Softlink Alice will then ask you to enter another Search Term. HELP

When the Select button is clicked, Softlink Alice displays a table of thirteen buttons from which the Search Scope can be selected. For example, you can select the Author button to show just the author’s which are the closest match of the search term you have entered. |
